I was inspired by a movement that I became a part of, and has turned into almost a second family. This movement has made me realize the power of having a presence on the internet. The movement I speak of is the Jericho Lives Campaign.
I was a loyal viewer of the drama 'Jericho' on Wednesdays on CBS. I was alarmed to find out that at the last moment CBS decided to cancel the show and not give it a second season. Honestly, I could have lived with that decision, but for the fact that they ended Season 1 with a cliffhanger episode and didn't tie up the story line.
I had become hooked on 'Jericho' and they left me without answers. So I joined with the millions of other 'Jericho' fans and began to fight back. I started by simply signing an online petition to save the show. Then I started looking around and stumbled upon the CBS Jericho board and Wiki. I found that many other viewers where just as upset as I was, and started reading their posts. We all rallied together and have accomplished many things I NEVER imagined that a group of strangers could accomplish.
- We have sent 32,986 lbs of nuts to CBS NY and CBS LA
- That petition I mentioned earlier now has 99020 Total Signatures.
- We have bombarded CBS with Emails, Letters, Postcards, and Phone Calls.
- We raised money and placed 2 advertisements in professional magazines (Variety and Hollywood Reporter)
- www.nutsonline.com/jericho lists the tons of media coverage we have gotten.
- We have also become like a family, instead of a group of strangers. We chat about more than just Jericho, we joke, we learn about each other. Its great!
So I decided to start blogging. I doubt many people will read my blog, but hey I will know that I'm putting my thoughts out there. I will be eager to express myself and fight for bigger things than a TV show. We need to get groups of people together that are this enthusiastic on issues like the government and the world.
Those are my thoughts
